Pattaya

Young life in the old world

The first move

At the end of my 3rd grade year, our family decided to move out to Chonburi, my father's hometown. Chonburi is located in the middle-East of Thailand.  The picture above is Pattaya , a city not too far from my house.  A lot of tourists come visit Pataya each year.  It's one of the highlights of the country, because you're likely to be able to find everything and anything in Pattaya.

Feel the difference

Although Chonburi is not all that far from Bangkok, the capital city, I was having a hard time adjusting myself sociallyl.  It was just like moving from New York to somewhere else in the country.

Mr.Computer

That was also the time I first got involved with computers, when my dad got me an Apple II. I like to learn a lot, so one day I went looking for computer related books to read.   Fortunately, out of thousands of books that my dad had collected, the only 2 books I found were about computer programming, BASIC, Part I and Part II.

Index, ceiling, and floor

Besides changing some codes just to make it easier for me to play games (do you call that cheating?), at the end of my 5th grade year, I created some programs just to help me do calculations and organize my stock market shares. My dad was kind enough to let me use his account, so I ended up making quite a lot of money during my 6th grade year   =)

I shall be number one

During 7th grade, I was introduced to what is called, "Mountain biking." I joined the mountain bikes club in Chonburi and actually enjoyed it.  Later on, I got involved in some competitions and actually won first and second place for most of the time. At the moment I had this idea that if I want to get involved in something, I might as well just put forth an effort to be the best. Having to get up at 5 to practice, and getting into many accidents, I began to get tired of them.

The attack

Eventually I found that it's really hard to focus on more than one thing at a time, and I felt sorry for my mother praying for me to get home safely from every competitions I went to(risk is what made it challenge, I thought), so I ended my risk taker life style, and returned to focusing on school.
